POTTY TRAINING

POTTY TRAINING

Does This Sound Familiar?

Are you worried your house may smell?  Are you tired of cleaning up accidents every day?

Do you feel like the split second you turn your back you find puddles or messes in the house?

Does your dog:

• potty inside right after going outside

• have accidents in the kennel

• have accidents overnight

• get distracted outside and forget to potty

• suddenly regress after doing well

• seem impossible to potty train consistently

Potty training issues can be frustrating, exhausting, and discouraging.

You may feel:

• overwhelmed

• irritated

• discouraged

• confused

• worried you'll never get ahead of the problem

You may have already tried:

• taking your dog out more often

• standing outside longer

• treats

• potty bells

• training videos

• advice from friends

And yet the accidents continue.

One of the biggest things I want you to know is this:

Your dog is not bad.

Your dog is not stubborn.

Your dog is not trying to make you angry.

They are HAVING a hard time.

And a CALM DOG is the answer.

What Most Owners Don't Realize

One of the most common mistakes I see is giving dogs too much freedom before they have successfully gone potty.

Another common mistake is rushing potty breaks.

Many dogs go outside already distracted, overstimulated, or excited.

Everything becomes more interesting than actually going potty.

• smells

• sounds

• movement

• people

• dogs

• distractions

Many owners are trying their best.

They simply haven't been taught how much structure and consistency matter.

They need a new game plan.

What Your Dog May Be Trying to Tell You

Many dogs struggling with potty training are dealing with feelings such as:

• distraction

• confusion

• overwhelm

• uncertainty

• excitement

• stress

They are not trying to frustrate you.

They are not trying to ignore you.

They are not trying to make your life difficult.

They are trying to cope with the world around them the best way they know how.

That simple shift in perspective changes everything.

Why Common Solutions Often Fall Short

Many owners believe the answer is simply taking their dog outside more often.

I've worked with many dogs whose owners kept adding:

• more potty breaks

• longer potty breaks

• more supervision

Yet the accidents remained.

And many times the frustration got worse.

Because potty training is about much more than simply being outside.

A dog can be outside and still be too distracted, overwhelmed, or overstimulated to focus.

You're Not Alone

My name is Jodi, and I train humans to speak dog.

I specialize in helping owners struggling with:

• Potty Training

• Jumping, Biting & Nipping

• Ignores Commands

• Fearful or Timid

• Resource Guarding

• Rescue & Puppy Mill Dogs

• Out of Control Behaviors

• Separation Anxiety

• Leash Pulling

• Excessive Barking

• Reactivity & Aggression

• Destructive Behaviors

Over the years, I've worked with thousands of dogs and owners and have personally rehabilitated hundreds of rescue dogs in my own home.

I've met owners who:

• feel like they can't take their eyes off their dog

• clean the same spots over and over and worry about the smell

• feel embarrassed when guests notice accidents

• wonder why potty training seems easy for everyone else

• feel exhausted trying to prevent the next accident

If this sounds familiar, you're not alone.

I've helped many dogs and owners just like you.

The Behavior Is Not the Real Problem

When most people search for help with potty training, they're focused on what they can see.

• accidents in the house

• kennel accidents

• overnight accidents

• marking

• regression

• inconsistency

• forgetting to potty outside

But these behaviors are only the symptoms.

Not the root of the problem.

All behaviors are a form of your dog's communication.

When a dog is struggling with potty training, they are trying to tell us something.

Distraction.

Overstimulation.

Stress.

Confusion.

Lack of structure.

Lack of consistency.

Most owners spend months trying to stop the accidents themselves.

Yet the behavior keeps returning.

That's because lasting change happens when we understand what is driving the behavior, not just the accident we can see.

Need Help Getting to the Root of the Behavior?

Understanding and dealing with the root cause is the first step toward meaningful change that lasts.

Inside this online course, I'll walk you through the same step-by-step process I use with private clients to help your dog learn how to:

Looking Beneath the Behavior

Potty training issues don't only happen with puppies.

I see it in:

• puppy mill survivors

• breeder dogs

• inherited dogs

• puppies

• senior dogs

• all dogs from all backgrounds

Some dogs become distracted by everything around them.

Some are overstimulated before they ever make it outside.

Some never learned consistent routines.

Some simply have not learned how to slow down long enough to focus.

Different histories.

Similar struggles.

And that's important because many owners assume their dog already knows better.

Starting Right or Starting Over

Whether your dog is brand new or you've been struggling with this behavior for months or even years, I encourage everyone to start in the exact same place.

If The CALM DOG Connection principles can successfully rehabilitate severely traumatized rescue dogs, imagine what they can do for your dog.

Whether you're trying to prevent unwanted behaviors or help your dog overcome behaviors you're already struggling with, we start by teaching your dog how to be calm.

Not with more commands.

Not with more correction.

We start by helping your dog feel safe and learn how to relax.

One of the biggest things I've learned after working with thousands of dogs and their owners is that many loving owners accidentally create more stress without realizing it.

Most of us are simply doing what feels natural.

We talk to our dogs, many times in full sentences or baby talk.

We pet and cuddle our dogs constantly.

We let them follow us everywhere.

We try to keep them entertained.

It comes from a place of love.

But many of our dogs never learn how to feel calm without depending on us. We are their primary source of overstimulation without realizing it.

They become dependent on constant interaction, constant reassurance, or constant activity around them.

At the same time, many dogs are not getting enough of what truly fulfills their instincts as dogs.

This is what I mean when I talk about dogs becoming overstimulated and under fulfilled.

And when that imbalance continues long enough, it shows up as behavior.

Inside The CALM DOG Connection, we'll get to the root of your dog's behavior and I'll show you how to create:

• calm

• consistency

• structure

• fulfillment

• emotional safety

Before behavior can change, most dogs need to learn how to rest, decompress, and feel safe enough to finally relax.

Whether your dog is overexcited, nervous, fearful, shy, or anxious, we have to help them calm down first.

When dogs begin to feel calm and safe, behavior starts changing naturally.

💛 Your dog has been trying to communicate with you all along.

Now that you understand more about what's happening beneath the behavior, the next step is learning how to help them.

Inside The CALM DOG Connection, I'll guide you step by step so you can begin creating more calm, confidence, emotional safety, and a stronger connection with your dog.

You don't have to figure this out alone.

Choose the option that feels right for you.

Connection Instead of Correction

Inside The CALM DOG Connection online course, one of my core philosophies is:

Connection NOT Correction.

Instead of focusing on obedience, we focus on understanding.

Instead of forcing behavior change, we focus on creating calm.

You'll learn how to build trust through:

• eye contact

• calm energy

• body language

• subtle words

• positive rewards

• confidence building

• structure

• leadership

• connection

Because when dogs feel safe, understood, and connected, meaningful change becomes possible.

There Is Hope

If you're struggling with potty training, I want you to leave here knowing this:

You are not alone.

Your dog is not broken.

And it is not too late.

I've helped many dogs and owners struggling with:

• accidents

• kennel accidents

• inconsistency

• distraction

• overwhelm

Change is possible.

Because we help dogs feel safer, calmer, and more understood.
