RESCUE & PUPPY MILL DOGS

RESCUE & PUPPY MILL DOGS

Does This Sound Familiar?

Did you rescue a dog hoping to give them a better life, only to discover they're struggling far more than you expected?

Do you find yourself wondering if your dog will ever feel safe, trust people, or truly relax?

Does your dog:

• panic easily or shut down

• struggle with potty training

• seem terrified of normal things

• avoid people or touch

• react defensively

• pace, tremble, hide, or freeze

• struggle to settle and relax

Rescue and puppy mill behaviors can be heartbreaking, exhausting, and overwhelming.

You may feel:

• helpless

• frustrated

• discouraged

• worried your dog may never recover

You may have already tried:

• treats

• reassurance

• training videos

• extra affection

• more socialization

• advice from friends

And yet the behavior continues.

One of the biggest things I want you to know is this:

Your dog is not bad.

Your dog is not broken.

Your dog is not trying to be difficult.

They are HAVING a hard time.

And a CALM DOG is the answer.

What Most Owners Don't Realize

One of the most common mistakes I see is assuming rescue and puppy mill dogs should simply be grateful to have a better life.

But many dogs are carrying fear, stress, and survival habits that existed long before they ever met you.

Another common mistake is expecting trust to happen quickly.

Trust is earned through consistency, safety, and time.

Many owners are trying their best.

They simply haven't been taught how deeply fear and survival mode can affect behavior.

What Your Dog May Be Trying to Tell You

Many rescue and puppy mill dogs are struggling with feelings such as:

• fear

• uncertainty

• confusion

• stress

• overwhelm

• feeling unsafe

They are not trying to reject you.

They are not trying to make your life difficult.

They are not trying to be stubborn.

They are trying to survive the best way they know how.

That simple shift in perspective changes everything.

Why Common Solutions Often Fall Short

Many owners believe more exposure is the answer.

I've worked with many dogs whose owners kept adding:

• more outings

• more socialization

• more people

• more stimulation

Yet the fear remained.

And many times it got worse.

Because exposure and emotional safety are not the same thing.

A dog can be surrounded by good experiences and still feel emotionally overwhelmed.

A dog can be physically safe and still not feel safe.

You're Not Alone

My name is Jodi, and I train humans to speak dog.

I specialize in helping owners struggling with:

• Rescue & Puppy Mill Dogs

• Out of Control Behaviors

• Separation Anxiety

• Leash Pulling

• Excessive Barking

• Reactivity & Aggression

• Destructive Behaviors

• Potty Training

• Jumping, Biting & Nipping

• Ignoring Commands

• Fearful or Timid

• Resource Guarding

Over the years, I've worked with thousands of dogs and owners and have personally rehabilitated hundreds of rescue dogs in my own home.

These are my very favorite dogs to rehabilitate.

I've worked with many dogs that people believed were too damaged, too fearful, or too shut down to ever fully recover.

I've taught their owners The CALM DOG Connection techniques, and today those dogs are living wonderful lives in their FurEver Homes because someone finally understood what they were trying to communicate.

I've helped many dogs and owners just like you.

The Behavior Is Not the Real Problem

When most people search for help with rescue or puppy mill behaviors, they're focused on what they can see.

• fear

• shutdown behavior

• reactivity

• barking

• growling

• pacing

• separation anxiety

• hypervigilance

But these behaviors are only the symptoms.

Not the root of the problem.

All behaviors are a form of your dog's communication.

When a rescue or puppy mill dog struggles, they are trying to tell us something.

Fear.

Exhaustion.

Stress.

Confusion.

Insecurity.

Overwhelm.

Feeling unsafe.

Most owners spend months trying to stop the behavior itself.

Yet the behavior keeps returning.

That's because lasting change happens when we understand what is driving the behavior, not just the behavior we can see.

Need Help Getting to the Root of the Behavior?

Understanding and dealing with the root cause is the first step toward meaningful change that lasts.

Inside this online course, I'll walk you through the same step-by-step process I use with private clients to help your dog learn how to:

• settle

• relax naturally

• create lasting behavior change

Looking Beneath the Behavior

Rescue and puppy mill behaviors don't only happen because of abuse.

I see it in dogs who have experienced:

• neglect

• abandonment

• instability

• shelters

• hoarding situations

• puppy mills

• multiple homes

• lack of socialization

• life-changing transitions

Some dogs have never truly felt safe.

Some have spent years living in survival mode.

Some have never learned how to trust people.

Different histories.

Similar struggles.

And that's important because many owners blame themselves for what they're seeing today.

Often these behaviors began long before the dog ever arrived in your home.

Starting Right or Starting Over

Whether your dog is brand new or you've been struggling with this behavior for months or even years, I encourage everyone to start in the exact same place.

If The CALM DOG Connection principles can successfully rehabilitate severely traumatized rescue dogs, imagine what they can do for your dog.

Whether you're trying to prevent unwanted behaviors or help your dog overcome behaviors you're already struggling with, we start by teaching your dog how to be calm.

Not with more commands.

Not with more correction.

We start by helping your dog feel safe and learn how to relax.

One of the biggest things I've learned after working with thousands of dogs and their owners is that many loving owners accidentally create more stress without realizing it.

Most of us are simply doing what feels natural.

We talk to our dogs, many times in full sentences or baby talk.

We pet and cuddle our dogs constantly.

We let them follow us everywhere.

We try to keep them entertained.

It comes from a place of love.

But many of our dogs never learn how to feel calm without depending on us. We are their primary source of overstimulation without realizing it.

They become dependent on constant interaction, constant reassurance, or constant activity around them.

At the same time, many dogs are not getting enough of what truly fulfills their instincts as dogs.

This is what I mean when I talk about dogs becoming overstimulated and under fulfilled.

And when that imbalance continues long enough, it shows up as behavior.

Inside The CALM DOG Connection, we'll get to the root of your dog's behavior and I'll show you how to create:

• calm

• consistency

• structure

• fulfillment

• emotional safety

Before behavior can change, most dogs need to learn how to rest, decompress, and feel safe enough to finally relax.

Whether your dog is overexcited, nervous, fearful, shy, or anxious, we have to help them calm down first.

When dogs begin to feel calm and safe, behavior starts changing naturally.

💛 Your dog has been trying to communicate with you all along.

Now that you understand more about what's happening beneath the behavior, the next step is learning how to help them.

Inside The CALM DOG Connection, I'll guide you step by step so you can begin creating more calm, confidence, emotional safety, and a stronger connection with your dog.

You don't have to figure this out alone.

Choose the option that feels right for you.

Connection Instead of Correction

Inside The CALM DOG Connection online course, one of my core philosophies is:

Connection NOT Correction.

Instead of focusing on obedience, we focus on understanding.

Instead of forcing behavior change, we focus on creating calm.

You'll learn how to build trust through:

• eye contact

• calm energy

• body language

• subtle words

• positive rewards

• confidence building

• structure

• leadership

• connection

Because when dogs feel safe, understood, and connected, meaningful change becomes possible.

There Is Hope

If you're struggling with a rescue or puppy mill dog, I want you to leave here knowing this:

You are not alone.

Your dog is not broken.

And it is not too late.

I've helped many dogs and owners struggling with:

• fear

• shutdown behavior

• reactivity

• insecurity

• overwhelm

Change is possible.

Because we help dogs feel safer, calmer, and more understood.

I've watched incredible transformations happen when dogs finally begin to feel safe.
