Do you come home wondering what will be destroyed this time?
Maybe it's the blinds.
The couch cushions.
The carpet by the door.
The kennel.
The window frame.
The trash can.
Your favorite shoes.
Maybe you've spent hundreds or even thousands of dollars replacing things.
Maybe you're afraid to leave your dog alone.
Have you started shortening trips, avoiding errands, or rushing home early?
And perhaps the hardest part is this:
Your dog seems perfectly happy when you're together.
Then everything falls apart when you're gone.
It can feel confusing.
Frustrating.
Exhausting.
But what if your dog is not destroying things because they're being bad?
What if they're trying to cope with emotions that feel too overwhelming to handle alone?
When you learn to help them feel calm, confident and safe you will see improvement in multiple behaviors at the same time.
What Most Owners Don't Realize
Many people assume destruction is a discipline problem.
A boredom problem.
Or a dog trying to "get back at them."
But what if the destruction started long before the destruction happened?
Many separation anxiety dogs spend their entire day emotionally attached to their person.
Following them.
Watching them.
Being reassured by them.
Receiving constant attention.
Being included in every activity.
And because it comes from love, most owners never realize they may be creating emotional dependence.
Your dog learns:
"My person helps me feel safe."
"My person helps me feel calm."
"My person helps me regulate my emotions."
But they may never learn:
"How do I calm myself down?"
"How do I settle when nobody is interacting with me?"
"How do I feel safe when my person isn't here?"
Then one day you leave.
Your dog suddenly loses the very thing they've been depending on all day.
For some dogs, that emotional panic becomes overwhelming.
And panic often looks like destruction.
Your dog is not trying to destroy your home.
Your dog may be desperately trying to escape emotions they do not know how to manage.
They cannot:
β’ teach themselves emotional safety
β’ create confidence on their own
β’ learn how to self-soothe without guidance
Those are things we have to help them learn.
And that's exactly what I want to teach you inside The CALM DOG Connection.
I'll guide you in this course so that you can guide them in your daily life.
What Your Dog May Be Trying to Tell You
When your dog destroys a door, scratches at a window, chews trim, or tears apart a kennel, they may not be saying:
"I'll teach you to leave me."
They may be saying:
"I don't know how to handle this."
"I'm scared."
"I don't feel safe."
"I need help."
Many owners only see the damage.
But your dog is living through the emotions that created the damage.
Imagine feeling trapped inside a situation that feels overwhelming.
Imagine desperately trying to find relief.
That is the reality many separation anxiety dogs experience.
Your dog is not trying to make your life harder.
They may simply be struggling with emotions they do not know how to manage.
That is why I focus so heavily on helping dogs build calm, confidence, and emotional safety.
Because when those things improve, many of the behaviors improve naturally.
Why Common Solutions Often Fall Short
When destruction happens, most owners naturally focus on the object.
Replacing it.
Protecting it.
Blocking access to it.
Moving it.
Hiding it.
And while management can certainly help prevent damage, it does not always address the reason the destruction is happening.
Many owners add more toys.
More chews.
More exercise.
More activity.
Yet the destruction continues.
Because the object was never the real issue.
The emotional state driving the destruction is still there.
That is why so many owners feel stuck.
They're trying to solve the symptom while the root cause remains untouched.
Inside The CALM DOG Connection, I teach owners how to look beneath the behavior and understand what their dog is actually struggling with.
My name is Jodi, and I train humans to speak dog.
Over the years, I've worked with thousands of dogs and owners and have personally rehabilitated hundreds of rescue dogs in my own home.
If you're struggling with this behavior, I want you to know something important:
You are not alone.
I know how overwhelming it can feel when you love your dog so much and nothing seems to be working.
Maybe you're frustrated.
Maybe you're exhausted.
Maybe you're worried things are getting worse.
Maybe you're feeling guilty, embarrassed, discouraged, or even scared about what the future holds.
I've sat with many owners who felt exactly the same way.
And I've helped thousands of dogs and owners just like you.
One of the biggest things I want you to know is this:
Your dog is not bad.
Your dog is not broken.
They are not GIVING you a hard time.
They are HAVING a hard time.
And that's exactly why I created The CALM DOG Connection.
To help you understand what your dog is feeling, create more calm and emotional safety, and help both of you move forward together.
Your dog needs you to help them.
And I'll be here to help you.
The torn carpet is not the real problem.
The destroyed kennel is not the real problem.
The damaged door is not the real problem.
The real problem is the emotional panic happening underneath those behaviors.
That realization changes everything.
Instead of asking:
"How do I stop my dog from destroying things?"
We begin asking:
"Why does my dog feel unsafe when they're alone?"
That question leads us somewhere much deeper.
Because destruction is often a symptom.
Not the root cause.
And when we focus only on the symptom, we often miss what our dog has been trying to tell us all along.
The good news?
Once we understand the root cause, we can begin helping our dogs build the skills they've been missing.
Understanding and dealing with the root cause is the first step toward meaningful change that lasts.
Inside The CALM DOG Connection, I'll walk you through the same step-by-step process I use with private clients to help them understand why behaviors happen and how to create calm, confidence, and emotional safety.
We'll focus on what your dog is feeling, not just what they are doing.
Because behavior is the symptom.
Not the root cause.
My motto is:
Training Humans to Speak Dog.
When we understand why a behavior is happening, we can begin helping our dogs in a way that makes sense to them.
Your dog needs you to help them.
And I'll be here to help you.

One of the most important things I want owners to understand is this:
Panic often looks messy.
Sometimes it looks like barking.
Sometimes it looks like whining.
Sometimes it looks like pacing.
And sometimes it looks like destruction.
When we stop seeing destruction as disobedience and start seeing it as communication, we begin looking at our dogs differently.
With more understanding.
More compassion.
More clarity.
Instead of seeing a dog that is trying to cause problems, we begin seeing a dog that needs help.
A dog that needs guidance.
A dog that needs someone to teach them:
β’ how to settle
β’ how to self-regulate
β’ how to feel safe
β’ how to be okay alone
Those are some of the most important skills I teach inside The CALM DOG Connection.
Your dog is not giving you a hard time.
Your dog is having a hard time.
And they need you to help them through it.
I'll be here to help you through it too.
Whether your dog is brand new or you've been struggling with this behavior for months or even years, I encourage everyone to start in the exact same place.
If The CALM DOG Connection principles can successfully rehabilitate severely traumatized rescue dogs, imagine what they can do for your dog.
Whether you're trying to prevent unwanted behaviors or help your dog overcome behaviors you're already struggling with, we start by teaching your dog how to be calm.
Not with more commands.
Not with more correction.
We start by helping your dog feel safe and learn how to relax.
One of the biggest things I've learned after working with thousands of dogs and their owners is that many loving owners accidentally create more stress without realizing it.
Most of us are simply doing what feels natural.
We talk to our dogs, many times in full sentences or baby talk.
We pet and cuddle our dogs constantly.
We let them follow us everywhere.
We try to keep them entertained.
It comes from a place of love.
But many of our dogs never learn how to feel calm without depending on us. We are their primary source of overstimulation without realizing it.
They become dependent on constant interaction, constant reassurance, or constant activity around them.
At the same time, many dogs are not getting enough of what truly fulfills their instincts as dogs.
This is what I mean when I talk about dogs becoming overstimulated and under fulfilled.
And when that imbalance continues long enough, it shows up as behavior.
Inside The CALM DOG Connection, we'll get to the root of your dog's behavior and I'll show you how to create:
β’ calm
β’ consistency
β’ structure
β’ fulfillment
β’ emotional safety
Before behavior can change, most dogs need to learn how to rest, decompress, and feel safe enough to finally relax.
Whether your dog is overexcited, nervous, fearful, shy, or anxious, we have to help them calm down first.
When dogs begin to feel calm and safe, behavior starts changing naturally.
π Your dog has been trying to communicate with you all along.
Now that you understand more about what's happening beneath the behavior, the next step is learning how to help them.
Inside The CALM DOG Connection, I'll guide you step by step so you can begin creating more calm, confidence, emotional safety, and a stronger connection with your dog.
You don't have to figure this out alone.
Choose the option that feels right for you.
If you're struggling with this behavior, I know how tempting it can be to focus on trying to stop the behavior.
After all, the behavior is stressful.
It's frustrating.
Sometimes it's embarrassing.
Sometimes it can even feel scary.
But the fastest path to change is understanding what is causing your dog's behavior.
Inside The CALM DOG Connection, one of my core philosophies is: Connection Instead of Correction.
Your dog does not need fear, correction or punishment.
Your dog needs someone who understands them and helps them feel safe and guides them to stay calm.
When your dog feels safe, understood, and connected, they begin looking to you for guidance.
That is where real change begins.
Not because we forced behavior to stop.
But because we helped our dogs feel calm enough to make better choices.
That is the difference between correcting behavior
and changing the emotional state driving the behavior.
If you're struggling with this behavior, I want you to know something.
There is hope.
I've worked with dogs that were terrified.
Dogs that were reactive.
Dogs that couldn't be left alone.
Dogs that barked constantly.
Dogs that guarded resources.
Dogs that seemed completely out of control.
And I've worked with the owners who loved those dogs and worried about them every single day.
That is why I want you to hear this:
Your dog is not broken.
It is not too late.
And you do not have to figure this out alone.
The fact that you're here tells me something important.
You care deeply about your dog.
You are looking for answers.
And you are willing to learn.
That is where change begins.
Not with perfection.
Not overnight.
But one easy step at a time.
Your dog needs you to help them
And I'll be here to help you!
I know you love your dog and I'm here to help you. Step by step.
