DESTRUCTIVE BEHAVIORS

DESTRUCTIVE BEHAVIORS

Does This Sound Familiar?

Is it getting expensive when your dog destroys things?

Are you tired of replacing things?

Do you feel like you can't leave your dog alone without worrying?

Does your dog:

• chew furniture

• destroy beds or blankets

• shred toys in minutes

• dig holes in the yard

• chew shoes, cords, or walls

Destructive behaviors can be expensive, frustrating, and emotionally exhausting.

You may feel:

• overwhelmed

• frustrated

• discouraged

• worried about your dog's safety

• concerned about what they'll destroy next

You may have already tried:

• more exercise

• more toys

• more chews

• correcting the behavior

• training videos

• advice from friends

And yet the destruction continues.

One of the biggest things I want you to know is this:

Your dog is not bad.

Your dog is not spiteful.

Your dog is not trying to punish you.

They are HAVING a hard time.

And a CALM DOG is the answer.

What Most Owners Don't Realize

One of the most common mistakes I see is focusing only on stopping the destruction.

Owners spend all their energy trying to prevent chewing, digging, or shredding.

Trying a different toy.

Trying a different correction.

Trying a different management strategy.

But destructive behavior is rarely about the object being destroyed.

It's often about what your dog is missing.

Another common mistake is believing the problem is caused by too much energy alone.

Many dogs are not just under-exercised.

They are also under-fulfilled.

What Your Dog May Be Trying to Tell You

Many destructive dogs are struggling with feelings such as:

• frustration

• boredom

• stress

• overwhelm

• uncertainty

• lack of fulfillment

They are not trying to punish you.

They are not trying to make your life difficult.

They are not trying to destroy your belongings on purpose.

They are trying to cope the best way they know how.

That simple shift in perspective changes everything.

Why Common Solutions Often Fall Short

Many owners believe more exercise is the answer.

I've worked with many dogs whose owners kept adding:

• more walks

• more activity

• more play

• more stimulation

Yet the destruction remained.

And many times it got worse.

Because physical exercise and emotional calm are not the same thing.

A dog can be physically tired and still feel emotionally overwhelmed.

You're Not Alone

My name is Jodi, and I train humans to speak dog.

I specialize in helping owners struggling with:

• Destructive Behaviors

• Potty Training

• Jumping, Biting & Nipping

• Ignores Commands

• Fearful or Timid

• Out of Control Behaviors

• Separation Anxiety

• Reactivity & Aggression

Over the years, I've worked with thousands of dogs and owners and have personally rehabilitated hundreds of rescue dogs in my own home.

I've met owners who:

• hide valuable items before leaving the house

• replace beds and toys over and over

• worry their dog will choke on something

• feel frustrated cleaning up destruction every day

• wonder why nothing seems to help

If this sounds familiar, you're not alone.

I've helped many dogs and owners just like you.

The Behavior Is Not the Real Problem

When most people search for help with destructive behaviors, they're focused on what they can see.

• chewing

• digging

• shredding

• stealing objects

• destroying furniture

• destroying bedding

• damaging the yard

But these behaviors are only the symptoms.

Not the root of the problem.

All behaviors are a form of your dog's communication.

When a dog becomes destructive, they are trying to tell us something.

Frustration.

Stress.

Boredom.

Overwhelm.

Unmet needs.

Lack of fulfillment.

Most owners spend months trying to stop the destruction itself.

Yet the behavior keeps returning.

That's because lasting change happens when we understand what is driving the behavior, not just the damage we can see.

Need Help Getting to the Root of the Behavior?

Understanding and dealing with the root cause is the first step toward meaningful change that lasts.

Looking Beneath the Behavior

Destructive behaviors don't only happen in young dogs.

I see it in:

• puppy mill survivors

• breeder dogs

• inherited dogs

• puppies

• senior dogs

• all dogs from all backgrounds

Some dogs never learned healthy ways to use their natural instincts.

Some are overwhelmed.

Some are under-fulfilled.

Some simply have too much energy, frustration, or stress with nowhere healthy to direct it.

Different histories.

Similar struggles.

And that's important because many owners assume their dog is being stubborn or spiteful.

Starting Right or Starting Over

Whether your dog is brand new or you've been struggling with this behavior for months or even years, I encourage everyone to start in the exact same place.

If The CALM DOG Connection principles can successfully rehabilitate severely traumatized rescue dogs, imagine what they can do for your dog.

Whether you're trying to prevent unwanted behaviors or help your dog overcome behaviors you're already struggling with, we start by teaching your dog how to be calm.

Not with more commands.

Not with more correction.

We start by helping your dog feel safe and learn how to relax.

One of the biggest things I've learned after working with thousands of dogs and their owners is that many loving owners accidentally create more stress without realizing it.

Most of us are simply doing what feels natural.

We talk to our dogs, many times in full sentences or baby talk.

We pet and cuddle our dogs constantly.

We let them follow us everywhere.

We try to keep them entertained.

It comes from a place of love.

But many of our dogs never learn how to feel calm without depending on us. We are their primary source of overstimulation without realizing it.

They become dependent on constant interaction, constant reassurance, or constant activity around them.

At the same time, many dogs are not getting enough of what truly fulfills their instincts as dogs.

This is what I mean when I talk about dogs becoming overstimulated and under fulfilled.

And when that imbalance continues long enough, it shows up as behavior.

Inside The CALM DOG Connection, we'll get to the root of your dog's behavior and I'll show you how to create:

• calm

• consistency

• structure

• fulfillment

• emotional safety

Before behavior can change, most dogs need to learn how to rest, decompress, and feel safe enough to finally relax.

Whether your dog is overexcited, nervous, fearful, shy, or anxious, we have to help them calm down first.

When dogs begin to feel calm and safe, behavior starts changing naturally.

💛 Your dog has been trying to communicate with you all along.

Now that you understand more about what's happening beneath the behavior, the next step is learning how to help them.

Inside The CALM DOG Connection, I'll guide you step by step so you can begin creating more calm, confidence, emotional safety, and a stronger connection with your dog.

You don't have to figure this out alone.

Choose the option that feels right for you.

Connection Instead of Correction

Inside The CALM DOG Connection online course, one of my core philosophies is:

Connection NOT Correction.

Instead of focusing on obedience, we focus on understanding.

Instead of forcing behavior change, we focus on creating calm.

You'll learn how to build trust through:

• eye contact

• calm energy

• body language

• subtle words

• positive rewards

• confidence building

• structure

• leadership

• connection

Because when dogs feel safe, understood, and connected, meaningful change becomes possible.

There Is Hope

If you're struggling with destructive behaviors, I want you to leave here knowing this:

You are not alone.

Your dog is not broken.

And it is not too late.

I've helped many dogs and owners struggling with:

• chewing

• digging

• shredding

• frustration

• overwhelm

Change is possible.

Because we help dogs feel safer, calmer, and more understood.
